Day 1

In a few short hours, around 8:30 am Tuesday morning, I will be starting my journey out to the Wild West. My first stop will be in Plano, TX, which is about 8-10 hours from where I will start. This will be the longest leg of my journey, figured I'd go the farthest the first day since I am the most fresh. Although it is 3:42 am and I still haven't slept a wink. After that I hope to get just past Amarillo, TX, to camp out for the night before entering New Mexico. This is assuming the buddy I will be following is OK with camping in that area, if not we might just have to find a hotel/motel to crash in. Time to sleep now, will try to update nightly and/or when I find the time between legs of the journey. This will pretty much be all new territory for me so should have lots of pictures, as I haven't driven past Houston by car, and have only flown to Los Angeles, CA twice. It's been a few years since I've had a real vacation, and I plan on taking my time to get out there and enjoy the amazing sights I've been told about.
